Blogcast 8: The Big Splash

(For those of you who like to read our blogs, we’re now including a link below the video to a printed blog on the same topic. Just click on the link, and you’ll find me in all my printed glory.)

Everything big and significant started out as a secret. It started out as a very good but little splash. Then it became a big splash because you aimed it at a your small and select audience. It became a big splash in a small pool. Then people began to wonder what would happen next. And that is a good thing.

So to summarize:

  • Don’t try to make a big splash. Instead, focus on making a big splash for your little audience.
  • The big splash feels good, but it’s not necessary.
  • What is necessary is doing your work with enthusiasm, generosity and authenticity. Focus on creating an experience around what you do – and you won’t be lost much longer.
