Blog 364 | That line you don't cross

In all things, there is a line that one shouldn’t cross.

You never want to arrive at a party too early, nor do you want to stay even a minute too late.

There is a line between an outfit and a ‘get up.’

There is a line between the things you need and the things you want.

There is a line between time saved and time wasted.

There is a line between things you try to avoid and things you seek out.

This line isn’t insignificant, it’s everything.

Once you cross it, one way or the other, it is nearly impossible to cross back over.

When it comes to business …

The line you never want to cross is the line between ordinary and remarkable.

Everything on the ordinary side competes on price.

Everything on the remarkable side charges a premium.

Everything on the ordinary side is constantly making noise.

Everything on the remarkable side is staying as quiet as possible.

Remarkable doesn’t say it’s remarkable. Everyone else does.

You choose what side you’re on.

It’s a choice to compete on price.

It’s a choice to compete on story.

Here is how to figure out what side you’re on. You may think you know but I’m not so sure …

People on the wrong side are constantly looking for business.
